ACCREDITATION

Accredited programs provide excellent learning experiences for professionals looking to stay up to date in their field. The University of Toronto’s (U of T) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) department in Faculty of Medicine accredits programs that meet the academic excellence and value expected from U of T.

U of T accreditation involves a peer review of the academic process to certify that the curriculum is rigorous, scientifically sound, and qualifies for continuing education credits for participating healthcare professionals. All Continuing Professional Development programs undergo this quality review process.

Upon completion of the peer-review, successful programs are approved by the Faculty of Medicine’s Continuing Education Directors and Leaders Committee and the Faculty Council Continuing Education Committee (FCCEC). The committees review each program for its attention to educational principles, such as: needs assessment, clear objectives, appropriate format, evaluation strategies, and conflicts of interest.
